I have "never" locked myself out of the house......my truck was a different story!
I always carry two sets of keys so if I lose one, I still have means....but when you leave both sets on the seat of a running vehicle in the winter time...Hmmmmm!

Never regret a day in your life! Good days give you happiness and bad days give you experience. Both are essential. Both make you stronger! You probably won't do that again!

From the first photo I was going to say "Damn you are a good second story person" LOL
I always leave the house with two different key rings that contain one house door key and one truck ignition key. The third set has a truck ignition key and a different house door key. One set for each front pocket of my pants and the main set for use.
I never leave any key to the house door were thieves could find it; that includes in my vehicle.

I don't have many keys on any of my rings ,,,maybe five (maybe 4) at the most and that would be the main set.

I have crawled through a few windows...and had to use a wire hanger on the car....lol
When I worked retail for a few years recently I was the go to guy for opening locked items...cars and lockers. LOL

Look up bump key!! OH MY,,,or even google picking a lock,,or google opening a door without a key,,,,you will save yourself some grief in the future...but you might not sleep well anymore. LIfe!

I've locked myself out so many time I've became somewhat of an expert at getting in. My boss has new home owners call me when they lock themselves out. Showed my daughter and explained the best reason to use a deadbolt, you have to have your key in hand to lock the deadbolt.

I'm a tiny bit obsessive so I'm always checking I've got keys, etc, as I'm going out.

However, when I was about 10, I managed to lock the car keys in the car while we were on holiday.

where I live is so remote I never lock the door unless I am going to be gone for a week or so.
you are best to find a place to hide a key. maybe a nail under a stair or on a tree. under something away from your house. I am a contractor and everyone always has a key stashed someplace.

Good Morning J OMG what a night.

When I was in Germany, I was in my local bar one evening with a friend. She left to go home, I looked for my coat and it was gone with my appartment keys in the pocket!! Fortunately my friend only lived across street, she put me up for the night.
I went to work in the morning, and after work went straight to the bar and there was my coat and keys Turned out that a guy was drunk and took my coat in error. I always carried my appartment keys in my trouser pocket after that!

With my house here in the UK, I have to use a key to lock the door when I leave, so I always have my key with me

I felt your frustration all the way in ME!!!I have done that several times house and car. The worst one I remember was after chemo and I was going out.for a ride. I dropped a bag of garbage in the trash bin, went to start the car and could not get in. Went back to go in the house to find the keys and the door was locked. Ok no house key, no car key. So I had to stand an empty pickle barrel on top of a pile of bricks and climb in over a window sill ( wearing a dress). My purse was on the hall floor but no keys. I had dropped them in the trash with the garbage

Never!
Have a key in my wallet, a key in a hidden lock box, and 2 keys on me......one with truck keys, one with house alarm.
Only locked myself out of my car once. Put car keys in wallet after that.
Now, can't be done with key fob. Also, can issue commands via cell phone to truck, start, stop engine, unlock/lock, alarm systems, total vehicle status. Truck actually has it's own "phone number"! Onstar can locate truck, issue commands to slow/stop stolen vehicle, give location to PD.

Been there, done that. The toilet window was easily removed and we put one of my little sons through the opening and sent him round to the front door to let us in.

I kind of locked myself out once! I put the key in the front door latch, went to turn the key...but it wouldn't turn.
I went next door and my neighbour let me phone the office of the housing authority that I rent my property from. (council/rent office).
When the man from the council arrived, I gave him my door key and he opened the door first time!
Turned out, I didn't put the key in far enough for it to turn lol....Doh!

Have you ever locked yourself out of your own house?

Yes.

What did you do?
Broke in. Somehow it always seemed to be very easy.

I keep a key stashed outside somewhere but usually just don't lock my door.

Always keep a spare key in my wallet and I always use a key to lock the door when I leave. Now, if I had a nice single neighbor to hang out with...I mightn't be so careful.

I have, a few years ago before I moved back to the city. My parents lived next door and we kept spare keys at each others house, for just this occasion.

Since moving back to the city, I have only dead bolts for locks and need the key to lock the door so I can't lock myself out.
